Pedestrian killed on Hempstead Turnpike

Nassau County Police reported that a Bethpage man was killed while crossing Hempstead Turnpike at Stewart Avenue on Monday, May 30th

According to police, Robert Gunsberg, 60, of Bethpage was crossing the road at 8:35 p.m. when he was struck by a 2021 Audi four door sedan being operated by a 29 year-old woman. Police say Gunsberg suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver remained on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
